I wonder how this ends? Maybe the debt ceiling doesn’t get raised and that is finally the trigger that pops the stock bubble. Then I wonder who the blame falls on, the dems because they are in charge or the republicans for refusing to raise the ceiling. My sense is that the political gamesmanship of McConnell has gotten pretty public and well understood even by people who are mostly apolitical. Also it seems to me that refusing to raise the debt ceiling to “own the libs” will be a winner for Trump’s large swath of the republician party, but it will seem like less of a victory if it results in a recession. Or maybe the whole thing will get resolved at the last minute like always happens….
